Meriam Ibrahim, the 27-year-old Sudanese woman sentenced to death for leaving Islam, has been freed from prison, her lawyers have confirmed.

“Meriam was released just about an hour ago,” Mohanad Mustafa, one of Ibrahim’s lawyers, told AFP. “She’s now out of prison.”
