You’re probably expecting some kind of Ed Schultz meltdown over Scott Walker’s re-election victory in Wisconsin, but no — this is much worse.
Folk music legends Peter Yarrow and Paul Stookey — of Peter, Paul and Mary fame — appeared on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” on Friday to promote their new book, “Peter, Paul and Mary: 50 Years in Music and Life.”
And, of course, their appearance on the show involved a musical performance of one of their most famous hits, “Puff the Magic Dragon.”
The song is perfectly pleasant. What is cringeworthy about their appearance is the fact that Yarrow and Stookey are no longer able to hit the song’s high notes. Also, they tried to include “Morning Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski and guest panelist John Heilemann of New York magazine in their rendition of their oldie hit.
The entire segment is — well, the whole thing is terrifically awful.
