Gadhafi threatens to increase bloodshed ahead of no-fly vote

Hours before a UN vote on a no-fly zone, Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi sent a
searing message Thursday, stating he will spill his own people’s blood in
the opposition stronghold of Benghazi if rebels there do not give up their
arms and if foreign powers interfere.

Gadhafi spoke on national radio to saying he would unleash his forces on the eastern Libyan city within hours. He said
Libyans who did not surrender their weapons would face punishment without mercy.

“All military and civilian air and sea vessels in the Mediterranean Sea will become targets of the Libyan retaliation,”  a spokesperson for the military told Libyan media.
