Republican presidential contender Herman Cain plays up his southern roots in a new campaign video targeting Alabama voters.
“The state of Alabama, from Talladega and Anniston to Montgomery and Birmingham, just welcomed back a true son of the South: Herman Cain,” a male narrator says to footage of Cain campaigning in Alabama. “His 9-9-9 plan to renew America is putting the ‘united’ back in the United States of America.”
The ad features two voters, both female, professing their support for the Georgia businessman. The ad also points out that Cain won the Alabama Federation of Republican Women’s straw poll.
The campaign released the video less than an hour before attorney Gloria Allred is set to hold a press conference with the former boyfriend of Sharon Bialek, Allred’s client who has accused Cain of sexual harassment. The former boyfriend is expected to corroborate Bialek’s story.
