On Fox News Sunday, Mitt Romney responded to the infamous ‘money raining’ photo of Mitt Romney with cash stuffed pockets posing for a photo with his partners at Bain Capital.
Chris Wallace asked Romney how he would respond to Democratic attacks using the photo, painting him as a greedy “Gordon Gekko” type character.
“We were successful in raising our first fund, about $37 million, an extraordinarily large amount of money that we raised from other people, and we posed for a picture celebrating the fact we’d raised a lot of money, and we hoped to be able to return it with the good return.” Romney replied, highlighting his success at creating jobs.
Romney’s work at Bain Capital is again in the headlines this morning, as the New York Times reports that he still receives millions of dollars as part of a lucrative retirement package.
