Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the 24 year old Nigerian student arrested for attempting to blow up an airplane in Detroit, Mi. Christmas 2009, faced potential jurors this morning as jury selection for his trial began.
The Detroit Free Press reports that the “Underwear Bomber” shouted “Osama’s alive” when he entered the Detroit courtroom. He also repeatedly yelled “jihad” during the proceeding, and refused to stand for the judge.
His disrespect for the judge conforms with an argument Abdulmutallab made last month, when he said that “all Muslims should only be ruled by the law of the Quran.”
