In what is perhaps the clearest proof yet that that the Higgs-Boson particle proves that there are alternate dimensions very much like our own, the Nation has printed a dispatch from one of those parallel universes. Although in many respects like our own universe, in this one Robert Reich, who served as Labor Secretary under Bill Clinton, is wondering aloud why nobody in American nows about the negative side of what Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney did to earn his fortune. It begins:
Reich concedes that even in this universe the “White House has criticized Mitt Romney for his years at the helm of Bain Capital” but somehow this hasn’t been linked to “the larger scourge of casino capitalism,” the term being Reich’s formulation for all that is bad about capitalism. I guess they don’t have the term “vulture capitalism” in his universe.
He asks “So why don’t Democrats connect these dots?” and concludes by saying: “Time will tell whether today’s Democratic Party and this White House have the courage and imagination to do it.”
I guess they don’t have Google in his universe either.
