Democrats in the convention hall may have loved Bill Clinton’s speech last night, but how did it play in their hometown papers?
First some headlines the DNC must be happy about:
Cleveland Plain Dealer – big pic, above fold, on message headline
Richmond Times-Dispatch – above fold, smaller pic, on message headline
Tampa Bay Times – big pic, above the fold, decent headline
Front pages the DNC can’t be happy about:
The Miami Herald – tiny Clinton pic, no headline, lead stories are voter fraud and Israel/platform debacle
Cincinnati Enquirer – lead story is U.S. debt, no picture or headline relating to Clinton
The Virginia Pilot – small pic, below the fold, no headline
and finally, USA Today – great pic, great placement, but considering that more than 60 percent of Americans believe America is on the wrong track, is this really a good headline?
