Mitt Romney has broken out among Republican voters nationally, exceeding 30 percent support for the first time, according to Gallup figures released today.
“We now have for the first time, over the weekend and through Monday, Mitt Romney with 30 percent or more of the vote of Republicans nationwide,” Gallup Editor-in-Chief Frank Newport announced this morning.”Gingrich and Santorum [are] way behind in the upper teens,” he added.
Gallup also announced that Romney is “now [Republicans] majority pick for the GOP candidate most likely to win the party’s 2012 presidential nomination.”
