Donovan McNabb? You have got to be kidding me

With the Redskins giving up second and fourth round draft choices to get Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb, it looks like owner Dan Snyder is back in the driver’s seat at Redskins Park.

This is one of those goofball deals like spending beaucoup millions to get Albert Haynesworth, giving up a lot to get a veteran of doubtful value. It doesn’t sound like the sort of trade that Mike Shanahan would do.

McNabb has been injury prone for several seasons, is in the final year of a multi-year contract, and is nearing the end of a career that has certainly been productive but ultimately disapointing.

And where does this leave Jason Campbell? I’ve never been much of a Campbell fan, but the guy has endured an incredible amount of flak with uncommon grace and dignity. He deserves better than this from the Redskins.

The only good thing about the McNabb deal is now seem impossible for the Skins to go after Sam Bradford, the now-former Oklahoma quarterback with the bad shoulder.
