Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, refused a pointed opportunity to rule out a third-party run for president, saying that he will “reserve a judgement” until the end of the primary — although he also indicated that a third-party run is unlikely, explaining that he is trying to put pressure on his rivals.
“I essentially have [ruled it out],” Paul said at first, but quickly walked that back, saying “I don’t like [speaking in] absolutes.” Continuing, he said, “I dont know why a person can’t reserve a judgment and see how things turn out.”
Paul added that he is trying to put pressure on his rivals to move towards his positions.
