MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough sneers at Ted Cruz for ‘faux filibuster’ on Obamacare

As Sen. Ted Cruz continued his marathon Senate speech opposing Obamacare Wednesday morning, MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough sneeringly labeled his speech as a “faux filibuster.”

Scarborough highlighted video of the Texas Republican reading a Dr. Seuss book, “Green Eggs and Ham,” on the Senate floor.

“If you can have a faux filibuster to end a faux debate … why not read Dr. Seuss?” Scarborough said.

Scarborough scoffed at Cruz’s vow to speak against Obamacare “until he could no longer stand.”

“This dramatic statement actually was sort of a faux line,” Scarborough added, accusing Cruz of making a deal with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., beforehand.

“He will talk until Harry Reid tells him he’s not allowed to talk anymore,” Scarborough said. “This dramatic statement was actually was sort of a faux line in the sand.”

As of 7 a.m., Cruz had been speaking on the Senate floor for more than 16 hours.
