Three fundraisers in three hours for Obama today

President Obama plans to travel to Scranton, Pennsylvania today to speak with a “real” Scranton family and deliver remarks at the Scranton High School.

After that, however, the president is returning to Washington via New York City, for three fundraisers in three hours.

According to the president’s schedule, Obama is attending a campaign event at a private resident at 6:05 pm, an event at the Gotham Bar and Grille at 7:30 pm and an event at the Shereaton Hotel at 9:05.

When asked by NBC’s Chuck Todd yesterday about President Obama’s time spent campaigning, Corney cautiously answered, “On a given day?  I can’t do it on a given day.  I would say on a given week about 5 percent of his time.”

Obama’s crash course cash dashes are legendary, which is why many of his quick trips outside of Washington often occur near major cities where eager donors are waiting.

The formula is the same: Promote agenda in a swing state, attend fundraisers in a major city, and fly back to Washington.

Last month, Obama attended six fundraisers during events in Nevada and California and in September, the president attended seven fundraisers in two days on the West Coast.
