Ron Paul doesn’t think Obamacare can be repealed

Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, said that he doesn’t really think that Obamacare can be repealed, noting that the government involvement in health care has been expanding since the first creation of Medicare.

“Theoretically, we can [repeal Obamacare],” Paul said during the debate this evening. “The likelihood isn’t all that good [but] we can diminish the effect of it.”

Paul pointed to Medicare to explain the difficulty of getting the government out of health care, and noted that Rick Santorum voted for Medicare Part D, which expanded the original program.
