If you want to read a really stinging column on Barack Obama’s failure to make a speech on his decision to go to war (er, make that “kinetic military action”) in Iraq, don’t stop with conservative Peggy Noonan’s piece in the Wall Street Journal. It’s pretty weak tea compared to liberal Michael Tomasky’s piece in the Guardian. Whew! Tomasky proves once again he’s not a go-along-with-the-JornoList-party line liberal (see Mickey Kaus on these characters). He takes stuff seriously and is concerned about how things work in the world rather than scoring political points.
