A well-known group of progressive activists is planning a protest outside President Obama’s reelection campaign headquarters on Tuesday over Obama’s proposal to lower corporate tax rates.
“President Obama, only days after promising to veto [and extension of] the Bush tax cuts, introduced a plan to reduce corporate tax rates,” wrote Garlin Gilchrist II, campaign director for the progressive group MoveOn.org, in an e-mail to supporters. “We need to respond to this quickly. A loud, immediate, negative reaction to lowering corporate tax rates could stop this idea in its tracks before it gets traction.”
The protest is scheduled for noon at Obama’s campaign headquarters in Chicago.
