Robert Gibbs is so popular! He just signed up for Twitter and in the last hour or so drew another thousand followers. CNN hints darkly at a coordinated campaign: several other Dem operatives also are newly twittering.
Beltway here is a total Twitter deadbeat. We were all up on it at first, until it got so tedious — now we just read and enjoy tweets from fellow White House reporters, notably Mark Knoller of CBS News. Echo chamber! We also like when members of Congress tweet.
But anyway — now that Twitter is mostly over, Gibbs is tweeting. (Note to self: Wasn’t this supposed to be the “wrired” administration?) Gibbs, under the handle PressSec, has so far issued a single tweet. We quote it here in its entirety:
