EPA triples funding request for fracking research

How much does President Obama want the federal government to spend investigating hydraulic fracturing next year? Nearly $45 million, according to the just released fiscal year budget for 2013.

The Environmental Protection Agency budget includes a $14 million total hydraulic fracturing research request, three times as much as the $4.2 million requested for FY2012.
