Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano told Congress Tuesday that people whom DHS had decided not to deport following President Obama’s decision to enforce immigration law as if the DREAM Act had passed might qualify for expedited legalization under the immigration bill.
“The [Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals] process itself really gives a good pilot for how we would do the larger [Registered Provisional Immigrant] RPI process,” Napolitano said during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing Tuesday.

The Washington Examiner’s Conn Carroll suggested recently that the DACA process is porous, citing one person who used his Xbox records to qualify for DACA.
“Munoz had been downloading games and communicating with other gamers through his Xbox Live account for years,” Carroll explained. “Munoz printed out his Xbox Live records, signed a notarized affidavit stating that they were “true and correct copies of my Xbox purchase history” and sent them along with his deferred action application. Two months later, Munoz got an answer from the Obama administration granting him legal status.”
