CIA operative released by Pakistan

Raymond Allen Davis, the CIA contractor detained by Pakistan after being

accused of killing two men has been released Wednesday, according to

officials in Pakistan.

The 39 year old contractor is on his way to the United States to be reunited

with his family, they say.

U.S. officials could not comment at the present time on the status of Davis.

Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah said Mr. Davis  was charged with murder

on Wednesday but was then pardoned by the families of the victims in

exchange for compensation, the Associated Press of Pakistan reported.
