Romney: Obama making ‘strange’ & ‘absurd’ argument

Mitt Romney regards President Obama’s policy positions and campaign attacks — and his campaign slogan — as increasingly “strange” and “absurd,” the Republican rival said today.

“The idea of selecting as a campaign slogan, ‘forward,’ is so absurd,” Romney said on Fox and Friends, citing the report that the wealth of the American family has declined by 40 percent over the last three years. “75 percent — three quarters of [small businesses] said it was less likely for them to hire people because of Obamacare,” Romney also said, again tying the healthcare legislation to the weakness of the economy.

The former Massachusetts governor dismissed Obama’s latest suggestion that he wants to cut jobs for firefighters and teachers. “That’s a very strange accusation,” Romney responded. “Teachers and firemen and policemen are hired at the local level,” he said, arguing that Obama simply wants “another stimulus” package.
