American Future Fund, a conservative 501c4, released a new ad today titled “Janesville,” echoing Paul Ryan’s Republican Convention speech attacks on President Obama’s failed economic promises.
“I believe that if out government is there to support you,and give you the assistance you need to retool and make this transition, that this plant will be here for another hundred years,” the ad opens with Obama saying. At the same time, text reading, “His words…gave us hope,” roll across the screen.
“Well as it turns out, that plant didn’t last another year. And that’s how it is in so many towns, where the recovery that was promised is nowhere in sight,” Ryan then intones. While Ryan speaks, on screen text reads, “But results matter more than promises.”
The ad will run on network TV and cable in both Wisconsin and Minnesota. The size of the buy will depend on how well the ad is received.
