Michael Rodrigues, D, a member of the state House Ways and Means Committee, voted for an increase to the state’s sales and alcohol taxes, which went into effect Aug. 1. Rodrigues was subsequently nailed by an alert Massachusetts citizen loading “a couple of cases of booze” into his car at the tax-free liquor store off I-95 in New Hampshire.
