Obama: 2 fundraisers, 120 people, $3 million

President Obama attended two campaign fundraisers tonight (one at the home of a major campaign bundler) that seem to have netted him approximately three to four million dollars, based on ticket prices and attendance figures recorded in the pool report.

About 50 donors in business attire sat at seven round tables,” the pooler noted about a fundraiser at St. Regis Hotel in downtown Washington D.C. Tickets cost $35,800, according to a Democratic official, indicating that Obama raised about $1,790,000 at the hotel party.

From there, President Obama moved to a fundraiser at the home of Sandra and Stewart Bainum. Obama’s campaign lists Stewart Spainum as a major fundraiser who has bundled between $200,000 and $500,000 for the reelection campaign.

Tickets to the Spainum cost $35,800 per couple, a Democratic official told the pool reporter, suggesting that Obama raised between $1,253,000 and $2,506,000.

A conservative estimate, then, puts Obama’s haul for the evening at $3,043,000. On the high end, he might have raised more — just under $4.3 million.
