There’s a flood of interesting lobbying news today, and so I thought I’d point you to some highlights:
- Maxine Waters claims a Comcast representative offered her something like a bribe if she went along with Comcast’s effort to buy NBC. Instead, she says she was just demanding more “diversity.”
- Goldman tells Charlie Gasparino that financial regulation will hit its smaller competitor — JP Morgan — harder than it will hit Goldman, thus helping the Wall Street giant.
- “Reform” is the best thing that can happen to K Street. The Center for Public Integrity has a good report on which lobbyists are working hardest — and getting paid the most — on financial “reform.”
- On Thursday night, Hotel Monaco will be the place to for Wall Street’s lobbyists and Democratic staffers. Dems are raising funds from these lobbyists at a $1,000 a head dinner, Roll Call reports: “But this week, K Streeters are expected to cut checks in droves for the chance to mingle with about 50 senior House staffers who are headlining a Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee fundraiser.”
- John McCain is attacking J.D. Hayworth as a lobbyist.
