My former colleagues at the Heritage Foundation have produced a superb mini-documentary on the basic choice in education – should schools be controlled at the local level and by parents, or at the federal level by bureaucrats in Washington, D.C.?
The mini-doc features interviews with Texas Gov. Rick Perry and South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, plus Gerald Robinson and Patricia Wright, two of Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell’s education appointees, as well as with teachers, education bloggers and a Heritage expert on education issues.
It’s well-worth watching and pondering if President Obama’s Race to the Top program might not actually be a race to a dull, grey future of educational collectivism:
