Trump is only helping Democrats continue to delegitimize their election losses

Democrats and their media allies have whined for years that elections were stolen from them without providing any evidence. Republicans, including President Trump, should stop imitating them.

Yes, Democrats are pretending that Hillary Clinton hasn’t spent the last four years since her concession saying that Trump’s victory was illegitimate. And yes, media outlets such as CNN are still propping up conspiracy theorist Stacey Abrams to this day, even though she still hasn’t conceded her clear loss to Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp in 2018. Republicans rightly criticized both of these, but they are undermining their credibility with each passing day.

With or without Sidney Powell, the claims from Trump’s legal team of voting machine algorithms and the ghost of Hugo Chavez rival Clinton’s blame of Russian Facebook memes in their absurdity. And that absurdity is spreading: Rising GOP star Kimberly Klacik claims her House election was stolen. She lost by 43 points in a district where Republicans usually lose by over 50 points.

There is no excuse for this. As other Republicans have made clear, there is no evidence of fraud widespread enough to flip any one state, let alone the three or more that Trump would need to prevail. This election is over, and Trump has a duty to both the country and to the GOP to quit the Clinton impression and concede. If he doesn’t, Republicans should leave him behind, along with others like Klacik who refuse to accept the reality of the situation.

Democrats and their media allies have tried their best to delegitimize the 2016, 2018, and even 2020 election cycles. Trump returning the favor gives them an excuse to continue to do so in future elections, no matter how clear their losses are. After all, what helps Abrams’s absurd claims about Kemp rigging Georgia elections more than Trump’s team suggesting the same?

Democrats are going to continue to pretend they didn’t lie to the country for years about Russian interference to distract from Clinton being a terrible candidate who ran a terrible campaign. The establishment media are going to continue to praise and defend Abrams despite her post-election denial tour. Republicans can’t fight against that after making themselves hypocrites, no matter how much they wish Trump actually won.
