Actor George Clooney was at the White House last night, urging President Obama and Vice President Joe Biden to get serious about Darfur.
Clooney has visited the region several times, including a trip last week to Chad. He gave Obama and Biden a list of 250,000 activists asking Obama to honor his promise to end genocide in Darfur.
The actor met Obama three years ago working on Darfur-related issues, Clooney told CNN talker Larry King in an interview.
Among other things, Clooney is pushing for Obama to appoint an envoy dedicated to bringing peace to Darfur.
