Santorum: Tim Tebow is a hero

Rick Santorum praised Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow as a “hero” today, adding that he believes Tebow was “held up to scorn and ridicule” because of his Christian faith.

“Our heroes that we celebrate almost without thinking . . . are not heroes that are necessarily promoting [our] values,” Santorum said while talking to South Carolina moms about traditional marriage, “and when we have one who does, they’re controversial, right? They’re the ones who get held up to scorn and ridicule because they stand up for Biblical virtues or truth, as we saw with Tim Tebow.”
