Sen. Feingold, D, still in trouble

I think I’ve found my new least-favorite phrase: “virtual dead heat.”

Notwithstanding my own objections, here are the results of a Rasmussen poll in Wisconsin, where Republicans would love to knock off Sen. Russ Feingold, D:

Incumbent Democrat Russ Feingold is still in a virtual dead heat with endorsed Republican challenger Ron Johnson in Wisconsin’s U.S. Senate race.
The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in the state shows Feingold drawing 46% of the vote, while Johnson picks up 45%. Only three percent (3%) would vote for another candidate, and six percent (6%) are undecided.
The two men also were tied in late May, just after Johnson was officially endorsed at the state’s Republican convention.
