In a season where some defeated establishment Republicans have refused to take no for an answer after losing primary races, Delaware Rep. Mike Castle has done just that. Late Wednesday evening, he announced publicly that he will not be engaging in a write-in campaign for the Senate seat that he had been seeking before he was defeated by conservative insurgent Christine O’Donnell:
“I do not believe that seeking office in this manner is in the best interest of all Delawareans. Therefore, it’s time for Jane and me to begin thinking about the next chapter of our lives,”Castle said.Castle needed to file paperwork to be a write-in candidate by the end of the day Thursday.
