The federal government’s Cash for Clunkers program is often referred to as “wildly popular.” And it probably is “wildly popular” for those receiving free money at everyone else’s expense.
But you might be surprised to learn that most Americans think the Cash for Clunkers program is a lemon that should be crushed like an old Chevy Blazer that gets 12 miles to the gallon.
Fifty-four percent of the public oppose Congress’s move to put more money into the program, according to a new poll by Rasmussen, and only 33 percent support it.
