The government of Iran is threatening to withdraw from the 2012 London Olympics because, they claim, the Games’ logo is racist. The secretary general of Iran’s National Olympic Committee, Bahram Afsharzadeh, claims that the logo spells out the word “Zion” a biblical term that refers to the city of Jerusalem. Afsharzadeh also urged other Muslim countries to boycott. (Perhaps they have more important things on their plates at the moment — but nothing like the Zionist bogey-man to create a distraction.)
Looking at the picture, if you squint, and read top to bottom, and know English, then one could possibly see something that approaches the word. You could also see a sassy-looking man bending to his side doing the Egyptian dance if you wanted to. The point is that you could see anything you want if you think hard enough or do enough psychedelic drugs. That’s what makes cloud gazing so much fun.
