We may still get plenty of wind and rain, and I’m counting on a three-day blackout, but Hurricane Irene won’t hit the district, Fairfax, Montgomery, Arlington, PG, or Alexandria. In fact, it looks like it only has a slight chance of hitting any of Annapolis.

And this chart (not easy to read at first) states that DC has a 36% chance of getting sustained winds of at least 39 miles per hour. The chance of 58 MPH winds is about 3 percent.
