A baby born prematurely after Palestinian terrorists shot a pregnant Israeli woman was pronounced dead on Wednesday.
On Sunday, the final night of Hannukkah, Palestinian terrorists drove by a bus stop in Ofra and opened fire on a group of Israelis, wounding seven. According to reports, the first shot fired hit a pregnant Israeli woman, Shira Ish-ran, who was severely wounded in her abdomen.
In order to save the her life, the baby was delivered prematurely, at 30 weeks by cesarean section. But sadly, the baby did not make it.
“The baby died embraced by his family’s love,” Alona Ben Nun, the doctor in charge of Shaare Zedek Medical Center’s prenatal unit where the baby was being treated, said, according to the Jerusalem Post.
The Palestinian terrorists sped off when IDF soldiers opened fire on the car, and have not yet been apprehended.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, “The murderers are abhorrent, the most deviant criminals on earth. The security forces are pursuing them and I hope that there will be news soon on this matter. We will not slacken until we find them and deal with them to the fullest extent of the law.”
