In December, U.S. District Judge Nina Gershon in New York issued a temproary order halting the government from defunding ACORN. Then last month she issued a rulling permanently preventing the government from defunding ACORN — in effect, she ruled that ACORN has a right to your money. Well, for once the Obama Department of Justice is doing the right thing and appealing the decision with the unintentionally appropriate case, U.S.A. v. ACORN. Matthew Vadum at Capital Research Center has obtained the relevant documents from the DOJ relating to the appeal:
