Did Obama lead a quake call on the golf course?

Obama was out golfing when the 5.9 earthquake hit the East coast, but reports surrounding the President’s activities on the golf course are unclear. (Reports that the quake caused him to “miss his putt” are unconfirmed)

Here is the description of the events of the afternoon according to the White House statement:

At 2:50 p.m. EDT this afternoon, the President led a conference call with DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano, White House Chief of Staff Bill Daley, National Security Advisor Tom Donilon, Homeland Security Advisor John Brennan, FEMA Administrator Craig Fugate, Senior Science Advisor for Earthquake and Geologic Hazards with the Department of Interior Dr. David Applegate, Nuclear Regulatory Commission Chairman Greg Jaczko, Deputy Homeland Security Advisor Heidi Avery, and Deputy National Security Advisor Denis McDonough to discuss the earthquake and status of critical infrastructure.

But Politico’s Carrie Budoff Brown isn’t so sure: “It is unclear where the president led the 2:50 p.m. conference call on the earthquake. He has not left the general golf course area here in Oak Bluffs, but the White House will not provide any more specifics on his exact whereabouts during the call.” she reported.

Obama seems to relish the fact that he can still lead the country and vacation at the same time. If true, I think all of us would rather lead our conference calls on the golf course.
