Poll: Americans love Canada and hate Iran

Canada ranks highest and Iran lowest in the affections of the American people after months of stories pertaining to Canada’s Keystone XL pipeline and the risk of war exacerbated by the Iranian nuclear agenda.

Americans have a higher approval of most traditional allies over the last year, in a new Gallup poll, as the U.S. view of Canada jumped from 92 percent to 96 percent, and American approval of Great Britian jumped from 88 percent to 90 percent.

Iran’s approval rating in the United States decreased from 11 percent to 10 percent, which is “not surprising, given the open hostilities between the two countries,” Gallup noted. The approval rating of Israel, widely-rumored to be planning a strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities, increased from 68 percent to 71 percent over the last year.
