Dear Rand: Please shut it. Love, Mitch

Still talking!  (ap photo)

Hey Rand Paul, when Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (also of Kentucky) goes on cable to observe that you have officially overexposed yourself, it may be time to rethink your talking points. From CNN:

“I think he’s said quite enough for the – for the time being in terms of national press coverage,” Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said in an interview set to air Tuesday on John King, USA.

“My advice to him would be to speak to the people who are going to be actually voting in this election,” McConnell told CNN’s John King. McConnell had strongly backed Paul’s opponent in the Republican primary.

Ya think? Last week, Paul morphed from electoral oddity to late-night joke — right along with Mark Souder and the BP oil disaster. Not awesome company, even if it is Bill Maher.

“I guess he’s trying to get the press to get off the racism thing, so his big thing today was that the oil spill in the Gulf was the blame game. He said, ‘Sometimes accidents happen.’ Which is not really what you want to hear from the guy who’s doing your lasik surgery.”
