Obama writes ‘shoot me now’ during Biden speech

President Obama hates sitting through other people’s long speeches, especially Vice President Joe Biden’s longer riffs.

Obama developed the dislike for Biden speeches in the U.S. Senate. “He had gone to Washington to do big things, but he was a junior member of a slow, rule-bound, Republican-controlled body,” Jodi Kantor writes in The Obama’s. “‘Shoot. Me. Now.’ he wrote to an aide, in the middle of a particularly long-winded oration. (The speaker was Senator Joe Biden.)”
