Debt limit: The House is expected to stage a clean vote on raising the nation’s debt limit by $2 trillion tonight. The vote’s imminent failure is expected to send a clear message to the White House about the unity of the Republican caucus before they meet with the president at the White House Wednesday. The only real drama will be to see how many Democrats cross party lines to vote with conservatives.
Palin: Reporters who treated Sarah Palin’s bus tour like a presidential campaign pretty much got what they deserved over Memorial Day weekend. While Palin did hit a number of stops in the metro Washington area, and was swarmed when she did stop, reporters were not told where she would be ahead of time. At one stop she told those present: “This isn’t a campaign bus. This is a bus to be able to express to America how much we appreciate our foundation and to invite more people to be interested in all that is good about America and to remind ourselves we don’t need to fundamentally transform America, we need to restore what’s good about America.”
