Holder: ‘It took me a month’ to ban gunwalking

Attorney General Eric Holder said that he had the “fairly rapid response” of a month, from the time that he learned gun-walking had been involved in Terry’s death, to ban the tactic.

“It took me a month, or less than a month,  [to say that] that gun-walking was inappropriate,” Holder said during today’s hearing. “It came to my attention, [and it was a] fairly rapid response, to say don’t do that.”

Holder said that he did not investigate to see if gun-walking was involved in Brian Terry’s murder. “There was no basis for us to believe that,” he said.
