Poll in Missouri suggests new Republican strength

Another sign that President Obama lacks a mandate, and that Republicans will enjoy gains in this year’s elections: one of their most vulnerable Senate seats — that of retiring Sen. Kit Bond, R-Mo. — suddenly looks much stronger for the GOP.

A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of likely voters in the state finds [Rep. Roy] Blunt [R] ahead of [Secretary of State Robin] Carnahan 49% to 43%. Three percent (3%) prefer some other candidate, and five percent (5%) are undecided.
