Some weird moments in last night’s White House YouBriefing.
Press Secretary Robert Gibbs took questions submitted and voted on by the public via YouTube following the President’s address from the Oval Office on the BP oil spill and clean energy.
On reducing dependence on fossil fuels: “We need to take some bold steps. . . to break once and for all our dependence on foreign oil and fossil fuels, and to make sure that the car that my son drives and the car that my grandson drives. . . is powered on the sun and the wind and the rain”
On suspending deep water oil and gas drilling: “The President told us because we don’t know what caused this accident, we can’t afford to continue drilling those 33 wells without knowing what happened. . . in Louisiana thats caused some economic pain and the president understands that. . .”
