Gov. Rick Perry, R-Texas, stayed in the presidential race after hinting that he might drop out, and now his campaign is taking steps to compete all the way through Super Tuesday, submitting signatures and nomnating delegates in accordance with several state ballot requirements.
“The Perry campaign has filed the requirements necessary to be listed on the GOP primary election ballots in Arizona, Illinois, Ohio, Vermont and Washington, D.C.,” his campaign announced today. Perry added in a statement that his “superior organization and resources allow me to compete nationwide.”
The Arizona primary will take place on February 28th. The Ohio, Illinois, and Vermont primaries will take place on Super Tuesday, March 6th, while the D.C. primary is scheduled for April 4th.
