Shee Atika, an Alaska Native American organization, has just purchased newspaper ads for Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, in Fairbanks, Juneau, Anchorage, Sitka and Ketchikan. Each ad cost between $1,200 and $7,100.

Murkowski, who was defeated in the GOP primary, is running as a write-in candidate against Republican nominee Joe Miller and Democrat Scott McAdams.
