Oops. This morning at a bill signing ceremony for the Healthy, Hungry-Free Kids Act of 2010, President Obama sent a shout-out to Senate Republican Leader “Mike” McConnell, and joked about the first lady making him sleep on the couch (both were funny, in our estimation).
From the pool report:
(Obama’s) biggest applause line came when he joked that the First Lady was so committed to the bill, if he hadn’t gotten it passed “I’d be sleeping on the couch.”
That seemed to throw (Mrs. Obama) off stride a bit but she recovered. “We won’t go into that. Let’s just say it got done. Don’t need to go down that road,” she said.
Hmmm. Based in truth?
We’ll let the armchair psychologists handle that one. Freudian slip? No — just a little French nightie.
