Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin, D-Ill., blasted Republicans during an interview on Morning Joe for their lack of support for President Obama’s recently proposed jobs stimulus bill.
Durbin rejected the suggestion that Obama’s plan constitutes a political ploy that he knows Republicans won’t accept. “I think they’re wrong and I hope they’re wrong because frankly,” Durbin said, “the notion that we do nothing and this economy gets well is very naive.”
Of course, Durbin himself said that Democrats would not do anything with President Obama’s proposal until next month.
