Senate overwhelmingly passes temporary spending bill

Senators have staved off a government shutdown by approving the House-passed spending bill that will keep the lights on for two more weeks. The vote was an overwhelming 91-9, and President Obama is expected to sign.

The nine who voted against are a motley ideological assortment:

Mike Crapo, R-Idaho

Tom Harkin , D-Iowa

Orrin Hatch, R-Utah

Mike Lee, R-Utah

Carl Levin, D-Mich.

Patty Murray, D-Wash.

Rand Paul, R-Ky.

Jim Risch, R-Idaho

Sanders, I-Vt.
