Ever since Donald Trump announced he was running for president, Democrats have crafted the narrative that our country’s democracy was under attack. Obviously, this was meant to do nothing but emotionally trigger voters, either through fear or anger. Yet, while they peddle this message to the public, they are doing everything they can to silence dissent — a core American value. The most recent example of this is the Justice Department weaponizing the FBI to go after parents who have challenged school boards over what their children are learning in schools.
Attorney General Merrick Garland has ordered the FBI to work with each U.S. attorney and “convene meetings with federal, state, local, Tribal, and territorial leaders in each federal judicial district within 30 days of the issuance of this memorandum” to develop strategies to “address threats against school administrators, board members, teachers, and staff.”
Yet, as Nicholas Tampio, professor of political science at Fordham University, pointed out in a poignant USA Today article, there is no legitimate proof that such a threat exists. The alleged threat consists of parents yelling and interrupting school board meetings. And while one could debate the merits of using such tactics or even their effectiveness, such incidents should not be considered a threat that warrants an FBI investigation. Such a response is an attack on free speech, more akin to a plot emanating from George Orwell’s Animal Farm rather than Joe Biden’s presidency.
This is nothing more than a power play by self-indulgent leftist Democrats usurping whatever authority and power they can to implement their own ideas and agendas. Much of the criticism from parents stems from the use of masks in schools and opposition to critical race theory. It’s further proof of the Democratic objective to eliminate dissent. While championing themselves as the leaders of tolerance and diversity, they merely pull the wool over people’s eyes with claims of “threat to democracy” to mask their totalitarian methods.
Using the FBI to squash dissension harkens imagery of more Soviet Union than United States. Democrats are using the mantra “threat to democracy” to hide their tactics to become the very threat they warned about. More importantly, they don’t care so long as they accomplish their political goals. Democrats only care about democracy when it interferes with the tyranny they seek to impose.
